Forty-five grams. Boils a litre. Fits in a pocket.

This is the classic backpacker's canister-top burner: screw it onto a standard threaded butane/propane gas cartridge, fold out the three pot supports, light it, and you have a 3,000 W flame with a proper simmer control. Folded it is smaller than a matchbox and it comes in its own pouch. For solo walkers, bikepackers and DofE groups it is the only stove you need.

Why we like it

• 45 g, folds to 33 × 52 mm, unfolds to 85 × 69 mm
• 3,000 W output with an adjustable valve for simmering
• Stainless steel, copper and aluminium construction
• Fold-out pot supports with anti-slip serrations
• Supplied in a carry pouch

Good to know

Gas cartridge not included; it takes standard screw-thread canisters sold in any outdoor shop. Add our Camping Stove Windshield and boil times drop noticeably in a breeze. Never use inside a tent.
